Dimensional weight guide · Confirm the service assumptions.
cm³ → kg

Understand the weight

Measure the package. State the divisor. Compare its weights.

03 · Divisors

A different divisor changes the answer.

A divisor connects volume in cm³ with dimensional weight in kg. See what changes when an illustrative divisor of 5000 becomes 6000.

Assumption B

Dimensional weight = length × width × height ÷ divisor

Three checks before choosing a divisor

Comparing service notes with a parcel

The service determines the divisor

Do not choose the number that gives the lowest result and assume a carrier will accept it. Confirm the divisor for your service, route and contract. The 5000 and 6000 examples here only demonstrate formula sensitivity.

Checking arithmetic on a calculator

Units belong to the formula

Here, cm³ divided by cm³/kg produces kg. A divisor intended for inches cannot be entered as a cm divisor. Convert measurements using the correct method first.

Colleagues discussing calculation assumptions

Rounding is a separate decision

The divisor alone does not explain a whole bill. Ask about dimension rounding, weight rounding, minimums and remeasurement. This tool applies only the rounding choices shown.

Next step

An assumption still unclear?

Start with a question about measurement, divisors or rounding. Confirm the actual service policy before making a shipping decision.
